We spend a lot of time with our eyes to the ground, trying to stay on the Path. We often miss the accessories that surround us. Life is a personal Journey and we can only Hope that at least a portion of what we hold to be true, really is. People we meet along the Way help us sort out some of the facts and fiction. I think we may all be surprised as to which is which.
But I do know this. The World needs Peace. Something to ease or comfort and caress our Minds and Hearts.
Music can do that.
And on the other side of the coin, we could use some positive, energizing reinforcement to Inspire us in every area of our daily routines. From the most mundane to the most enjoyable...
Music can do that, too.
I have been asked why I play the way I do, referring to the number of notes I play or the MPH I play at. I have thought about this a lot and one day this came to me.
“Fly He Will for Fly He Must.”
Then an image of a race horse flashed in my Mind and I knew then, that is why I do what I do. At the right moment, somewhere deep inside, something clicks and the horse just soars full tilt ahead. At that moment, it is fulfilling its Destiny. At that moment, there is nothing more Sacred. It is Honoring some inherent part of its design and purpose.
I play a lot of notes. I know that. But I find, that as I listen to what is coming out of my fingertips, at times, it feels like my Mind is being massaged and stimulated.
I may be partial, but I think what I play is top shelf. Why I play like this is a mystery to me. Sometimes I wonder, “Why me?”. I do play a lot. I almost always play 3-4 hours per day. If I play out at night, it goes up to 6-7 hours.
“To me, Music is a high calling.”
To say there is a higher calling is to say, “There is at least the possibility of a higher realm of Human existence. That I sense the Presence of Life beyond my comprehension, much like a microbe trying to grasp the concept that some scientist was looking at them through a microscope.”
“Music can incite riots, rally a losing team, bolster courage in men’s hearts as they go to battle, bring Peace to a troubled Soul, convince you of your need for some product you probably could do without. Music can wake you up or it can put you to sleep. It can be enjoyed by the rich and poor or young and old. It crosses all barriers and can be enjoyed by all Creatures, great or small.”
Sadly, it can be used for destruction as any source of Power can be. The good news is more and more Singers/Songwriters/Performers are trying to tap the healing side with determination and vigor. This is not to say they are Saints or even Saintly. They know the World is screwed up. But they choose to focus on the Hope of a better tomorrow, rather than continually stirring up the same old pot of troubles.
Since I was 17, most of the musical experiences I was a part of, included improvisation as one of our Creative tools. I am indeed fortunate to walk the road I do. I can think of no better way to help my Friends and some unique causes than to Create and distribute Music and Art, with the profits earmarked for their benefit.
So please help me help them, by telling your Friends and Associates about my Site. People whom you feel would appreciate my Music and Art. People who may be interested in downloading a few singles or CDs or ordering a few Disks of Computer Art. People who still believe helping others is a good thing...
