On July 9, 2002, I had an unverifiable experience that reaffirmed some of my own thoughts and Beliefs about Life. In short, a fever took over my body and the following two hours seemed full of wondrous internal revelations, as well as, some specific comments from some form of heavenly persona.
Granted, it could’ve been nothing more than a fever induced hallucination. Since I don’t feel the message was for anyone but me, I think it is safe to say,
“Faith is in the Heart of the Believer…”
I did, however, come away with a renewed sense of purpose, and for me that usually manifests outwardly through my fingers onto the nearest fretboard.
Such is the Music you will find on my CDs . Whether you believe my Experience or not, I do think you will agree what I play is at least inspired, if by nothing more than being grateful to be alive.
“Mercy” is the 1st CD I recorded after that Event. It is indeed fitting that this CD would be the opener to the “For My Benefit” Series. Every time I listen to it I am amazed at the range of Emotions and Styles that are captured on this Disk!
I have a Vision of visiting all 50 States over the next several years and documenting my Journey via audio and video. The Purpose of these travels is to end up with a CD from each State, and hopefully, a number of Documentaries.
The CDs from each State will be for the “John C. Redell Breath of Life Foundation”, which is merely my way of expressing and fulfilling my desire and Plan to generate funds for children with breathing disorders and funds to help re-forest our Planet and to assist a variety of other Charities. More trees mean better air, which should mean, less breathing problems.
The profits from the sale of certain CDs and Art Disks via Digital Downloads, particularly, several from the “Breath of Life Series”, will be used to help the children and their families with the cost of dealing with their infirmities. I have a Friend at a children’s medical facility who will help me route the $$$...
The other $$$ will go to many verifiable and qualified Organizations already in existence who are grateful for some extra support.

I am truly grateful for the Wellspring of Life and Music that just keeps bubbling up and overflowing every time I follow my Heart. I do Believe that any Higher Purpose I am to fulfill is somehow connected to what comes out of my hands when I play a Guitar.
