Death. Some of us fear it. Some ignore the thought of it. Some have a joyful anticipation of it. Some seek it with a Passion.

It is a threshold we all have to pass over. To Oblivion or to another dock in the Sea of our Cosmic Journey. Either way, there is no sidestepping this inevitable appointment with our common Destiny.

Wherever we stand in the thought of the Great Beyond, the most anyone can expect of our Sojourn on this magnificent planet we call Earth, generally falls in the 50-110 year frame.

Some, sadly, by our perspective, never even get a start.

In comparison to all the Time that has already passed and the fact that it will continue on ad infinitum, we have but a sneeze to Experience all we can while we are cognizant of our current Existence. And whether we are at the very beginning of the inward Breath before the sneeze or riding the last of the exiting spray, we will be visited by the Dark Specter.

Just because a large percentage of the World’s Population Believe in an Afterlife, doesn’t mean there is one. Just for the record, I am one of those who Believe. The point I am trying to make has to do with our frivolity when it comes to our approach to Time. We act like there will never be an end to our Tomorrows.

We can Hope, as many do, for more beyond this earthen vessel, but that is truly a matter of Faith. Even those who claim to have seen the other side are merely telling you of their own subjective Tale. They brought back no Angel feathers or Heavenly trinkets to prove they have been where they say they have been.

Remember, these Words come not from a cynic, but from someone who is convinced there is more beyond the Veil. Again, my point is, while you have Breath, use it to the fullest extent possible.  Life is to be enjoyed and shared with the Company we are surrounded by. There are no perfect Answers to many of Life’s Mysteries, for there are no perfect Answer givers. Go and see what you want to see. Experience what you feel the need to Experience.

What you have in front of you, is all that is guaranteed.

We could Point to the Book or Books of our particular Faith, but even for many of us who do express some form of Belief, those Words are far removed from where we are actually walking, to the degree that we pick and choose our Truth to match our own Conscience.

Not entirely a bad thing since there is no proof beyond what our Faith reveals to us. I can not expect you to count on my version any more than any other. If there is more beyond this short cycle of Pain and Joy, or a point of reckoning, it would be good to have lived a Life in preparation for such a rendezvous. If there is no more than the dark awaiting us, at least others will have been helped or encouraged by our participation in the few Moments we may have shared.

If there is, as we Hope, more awaiting us, then those who have already crossed over, are already enjoying the next level of the Human Spirit and await us on the other side.

There was a Time in my exuberant youth, I was convinced that we must all be exact and precise in our approach to things Eternal. Conviction without Wisdom can breed zealots, who only see what they are told to see, with little or no Compassion, which many deem or misconstrue as weakness.

To Live like there is no Tomorrow, yet Love like all Eternity depends upon it, would be an acceptable practice…

“Following are my thoughts after some very close Friends of mine experienced one of Life’s ultimate traumas,

the loss of their unborn child.”
