A pair of Keets enjoying a young Phoenix's 1st Meta Phazse.

There is nothing more spectacular than a young Phoenix, as it starts to stretch its

Meta muscles, during the early stages of this portion of its Life cycle.

Even though they generally exist a few Centuries longer than what we consider a Life span,

contrary to the Myth, they do indeed hatch babies,

usually one egg per joined couple, every hundred years or so.

Another misunderstood part of the Myth has to do with

how many or how few can be in existence at any given time.

Also questionable is the gender attached to them.

Depending on the Society telling the story, the Phoenix has been either male or female.

When in fact, there are both male and female, albeit,

there is no difference in color, size or most of the general features.

And there are Phazses they must go through.

There is the Phazse that happens long before they have to die to be Reborn.

It is still considered a Rebirth, even though death is at least decades away,

before that Journey has to be taken for the first time.

It is known as the Meta Phazse.

This is where they begin to foster the ability to change the atmosphere around

them at the innermost of particles. Usually we can’t see it with the naked eye.

Only for the briefest of moments does it overflow into our range of vision.

In fact, most Creatures can not see it, although many can feel it.

And generally this can go on and off, over and over again,

for several decades in the Life of a young Phoenix.

The first few hundred attempts are the most luminous and exuberant,

due to the youngsters lack of control and finesse.

It has been said that Keets get their colors from sitting too close

to the Phoenix as it goes through this Phazse.

For what is less than a minute, yet seems an Eternity,

they bob their head down and up and wiggle their wings in this entrancing sort of display.

Before you know it, everything around you is glowing!!!

They are, the air is, you are and any other Life force

fortunate enough to be in close proximity is.

A young Phoenix may put on several spectacular displays in an hour,

and then it spreads its wings and flies away,

to master other wondrous, inherent gifts it has been Godded with.

Breathtaking comes to mind...
